SYNOPSIS

In a seemingly empty space, two bubble-wrapped characters are delivered, followed by office furniture accompanied by instruction manuals. What is their purpose? Through an accumulation of various objects, the two beings improvise their sudden consciousness trying as they might not to bump into things or into each other. After all, « life consists of moving from one place to another, trying your best not to bump into things », once said George Perec.

What if we only needed very little?

Don’t we live in a dizzying time ? When I observe my life, I keep seeing myself navigating through the labyrinth of my own contradictions. It’s difficult not to be torn between our selfish desires for quick happiness and the need to make advised decisions for our planet. 

Caution and Fragile are new, fresh-out of their boxes and their bubble wrap. They are invited to build their own life. But an instruction manual doesn’t explain everything… Between the blurred outlines of existence and the accumulation that stems from overconsumption, it seems difficult for them to see clearly, think ahead and make good decisions. 

This play could be a metaphor of the human condition, a metaphor of this endearing, inventive, amazing yet disoriented and destructive humanity. If I was being delivered in a box and could hit the reset button on my own life, would I have the courage to see the world in a different way? Is accumulation necessary to feel happy?

Fable clownesque sur la force de l’amitié
Un beau petit matin, quatre artistes se préparent tranquillement à recevoir leur public… mais les invités sont arrivés plus tôt que prévu !!! La représentation démarre alors sur les chapeaux de roues et tout s’emmêle : le quotidien s’immisce dans le spectacle et le contraint à prendre une autre route, celle de l’imprévisible.

Entre leurs mains, des objets de tous les jours deviennent les outils de création d’un univers loufoque frisant l’absurde. Laissant courir leur imagination, ils plongent dans leur monde farfelu et mettent leur virtuosité au service de leur fantaisie.

Solidarité, espièglerie, rivalité et admiration sont au cœur même de cette aventure : cette bande d’amis découvriront, tout au long du spectacle, leur grande force : l’immense plaisir d’être ensemble. De fil en aiguille, ils vont broder leur alliance, entraînés par leur incontrôlable ludisme et l’envie débordante de partager leur talent avec le public.

A man returns home after a lengthy absence. He is confronted with family roots that don’t suit him anymore. No one knows who he is or where he comes from. He must reconnect with his own identity. An old bicycle motivates him to start looking for his roots. Hopping on the two-wheeler the man will gauge his life and go off looking for a new leaf to turn.

In a world filled with magical realism and tinkered magic, the bicycle is more than a mere object. It is a fundamental component of life that you need to ride to keep moving.

The project stems from a meeting between circus artist Guillaume Doin and DynamO Théâtre coartistic director Yves Simard following a training session he previously gave.
